Youth Goals in Action
from young leaders to real change
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Youth Goals in Action was an international project of the My Future Foundation implemented under the Erasmus+ program. Youth leaders from Poland and Portugal met in Portugal to develop competences needed to create valuable, inclusive activities for young people that respond to real needs.
The project’s reference point was the 11 European Youth Goals. The participants learned about them not only in theory, but above all, they wondered how to use them in everyday work with young people and when creating new projects.
Why was this project important?
Working with young people requires empathy, self-awareness, communication skills, and responsiveness to various needs. Therefore, during the project, participants worked on non-violent communication (NVC), leadership, emotions and healthy boundaries, preventing burnout, and supporting people with ADHD and autism.
We also talked about the responsible use of new technologies.
During the Green Prompting workshop, participants learned about the impact of artificial intelligence and data centers on the environment and how to use AI more consciously.
An important element of the project was the Youth Project Hackathon, during which Polish-Portuguese teams identified the needs of young people, combined them with the European Youth Goals and created their own ideas for future youth projects.
Youth Goals in Action was therefore not only a space for learning, but above all for translating knowledge into action. Leaders completed the mobility with new competences, ideas and international experiences that they will be able to use in their work with their peers.
And for us, this is just the beginning. The ideas developed during the project will be the basis for developing further mobilities and activities created together with young people.
