Secure Your Future
A project that helped young people consciously take care of their future
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Secure Your Future was an international project of the My Future Foundation implemented as part of the Erasmus+ program. It took place from June 30th to July 9th, 2026, in Jedlnia-Letnisko and brought together young people from Poland, Portugal, and Romania, as well as youth leaders and a facilitator.
Together, we created a space for learning, exchanging experiences, developing skills, and building international relationships.
The project aimed to raise awareness among young people about how to build their future better and more responsibly. Participants worked on topics such as online safety, mental health and well-being, relationships, civic engagement, caring for the planet, and making informed educational and career choices.
The project combined non-formal education with international group work, movement, reflection, and practical action.
Why was this project important?
Young people increasingly face information overload, pressures about the future, stress, online threats, and the difficulty of making informed decisions. Secure Your Future addressed these challenges by creating a safe and supportive space for developing self-awareness, self-confidence, social competences, and skills useful in everyday life.
The project also demonstrated that caring for the future is much more than career planning. It also involves caring for one’s mental health, relationships with others, the environment, safety, and making decisions consistent with one’s needs and values.
The program included workshops, team activities, intercultural activities, and an educational trip to Warsaw. Participants developed skills in collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, building healthy relationships, and consciously planning their own career path.
International cooperation was also a key element of the project. The collaborative work of young people from Poland, Portugal, and Romania allowed participants to explore diverse perspectives, overcome language and cultural barriers, and strengthen a sense of European solidarity and belonging. Secure Your Future was more than just an educational project. It was a space for learning about oneself and others, gaining practical knowledge, establishing new relationships, and discovering that young people have a real impact on what their future will look like.
Participants completed their mobility with new experiences, competencies, greater self-awareness, and—we hope—greater confidence that the future isn’t something to simply wait for. It can be consciously created.
